Uganda to Face Senegal in Round of 32 of the FIFA U17 World Cup
Uganda’s U17 Boys’ National Team, the Cubs, will face Senegal in the Round of 32 at the ongoing FIFA U17 World Cup tournament in Qatar.
After a spirited performance in the group stage, the Cubs earned a place among the tournament’s top 32 teams.
Uganda’s historic qualification followed a memorable 1–0 win over France in their final Group K match — their first-ever victory at a World Cup. James Bogere’s decisive strike sealed the famous win, lifting Uganda to four points, the same tally as France and Canada.
France topped the group on goal difference, followed by Canada and Uganda while Chile finished last on one point.
Senegal, Uganda’s next opponents, dominated Group C with seven points, emerging as the only African side to finish top of their group. The Round of 32 clash between Uganda and Senegal is scheduled for Saturday 15 November, with the winner advancing to face either Germany or Burkina Faso in the next round of 16.
